You have to just imagine. So… sky is blue. Right? Of course… we are in Brazil. Water? Blue… Of course we are in Brazil. Wonderful. Sunny. Hot. Windy. In front of you Atlantic Ocean. Turn your face a little bit, more, more…ok - see the shipyards? Huge, concrete blocks, high metal constructions, among them ships. Not small ships – large ships. Some of them on the water, some of them still on the docks being built/repaired. These last ones in repair are hidden inside the gates. Windmills in the background. Very untypical view, isn’t it? The shipyard looks strange (but interesting) on this calm, lovely blue sky…

Look closer. See sails? Windsurfers from all of the world are crossing this astonishing picture. There you go… sail GBR83. Ross is there.

FollowTheWinds.com rider Ross Williams has arrived to Fortaleza to compete in the last final event in Grand Prix Tour. How the windsurfing competition looks like? Well, first days - were preparation days. What does it mean? - Windsurfers had a time to “try” water and wind conditions. Riders were registering themselves in the registration office.

First Days in Fortaleza [24th Nov]

Look at the water: see Ross? – he is training with two polish windsurfers Hubert Mokrzycki and Pawel Hlavaty. The guys are getting ready for the event which begins tomorrow.

Ross is testing some new sails (2009 gear) and fins – which might give him and edge in the racing tomorrow.

Racing Days [26-30th Nov]

Photo: WindBrasil.com Competition days ( 26 – 30th of November)… well, very busy one! Windsurfers are all day on the water, if not on the water they sit on the beach and take a rest between races. If you look more carefully you can see Ross standing in the shadow of the tree (have a look into gallery!), he looks with concentration at the Atlantic Ocean. Every particular day of the event Ross has finished in the 3rd position. That  gave him the place on the podium. Gonzalo Hoevel, Ross’ good friend, Argentinean windsurfer - won the event. Gabriel Browne, Brazilan guy, is the second.

We’ll let the windsurfers rest after these busy and competitive last few days. After that we will try to catch up with Ross to ask him more about Brazil, Event, and competitions.
